The
Skibotn Astrophysical Observatory is a unit run by our group.
The observatory has coordinates: Longitude: E 20 deg 21.9'
; Latitude: N 69 deg 20.9'. The main instrument is a 0.5 m. R-C Cassegrain telescope that is the
the largest optical telescope in Norway. The telescope have been
used mainly for teaching purposes and for development and testing
equipment. Accurate photometry has been always a problem due to the
activity of the aurora borealis. However recently, since the
development of the TCP photometer, which minimize this contribution,
the
facility has started to be used by guest observers of other
countries for their research programs.
To accept visitors, please contact Jan-Erik
