Two different tours are available, to start after the scientific program Wednesday. One group will leave by bus to Sommarøy immediately after the program, and will have lunch served at the destination. The other group to EISCAT (European Incoherent SCATter) will have lunch in town (Rica) ahead of departure.
For both trips, we recommend that you bring a sweater, wind/rain jacket , a scarf, and a pair of light hiking or other sturdy shoes.
Both trips are complementary for the participants. For accompanying persons we will have to charge an amount of NOK 150 (including lunch) which is to be paid at the conference registration desk. We previously set a maximum of 45 participants in each tour (equivalent to one bus load). Due to great interest for the Sommarøy itinerary, we have discussed with Destinasjon Tromsø, and we concluded that it will be possible to increase the number on that trip with another bus if needed. The only limitation is that the boat trips migh be shorter in order to accomodate everyone.
Thus, you have still a chance to sign up for either tour. We appreciate if as many as possible give their preference before Wednesday, June 29, so that we can plan according to the most realistic numbers.

Activities in Sommaroy. Group is split in two parties.
One party goes on boat trip (either fishing or sightseeing).
The other party tours the village with a guide.
After approx. 1h the parties switch.
