Rica Ishavshotell is the conference hotel, and rooms are reserved for the conference there at a price of NOK 829 for one person in a single room, and NOK 980 for a double room.
SAS Radisson is a close neighbor to Rica, and rooms are available there at NOK 1095 per night, single and double room same price.
Comfort Hotel With is next door to the conference hotel as well, and is a good alternative for persons traveling on a slightly tighter budget. We have a limited number of rooms available here, at NOK 695 for one person in a single room, and NOK 895 for a double room.
IMPORTANT!
Please inform the hotel where you book that you are a participant of the IPELS 2005 conference, in order to obtain the conference price.
You should either make a phone call or fax the hotel directly, as the online booking may only be used for general booking outside the block reservation we have made. The online booking may tell you that the hotel is full, even if we still have rooms available on our reservation.
Please note that after the registration deadline May 1st, the surplus of the bulk reservation at the hotels will be cancelled in order to avoid liabilities for unused hotel rooms. Therefore, it may be very difficult to find a hotel room at conference pricing after May 1st.
All hotels have a hearty breakfast buffet included in the price, and the tax is also included in the price.
If you are on a really squeeeezed budget, you may consider the Tromso Youth Hostel, which is within approx. 30 mins brisk walk across the top of the island, or a 15 min bus ride away. We do not have reservations there. The current prices according to their web page is NOK 290 for a one person room. They offer a map and travel tip on their page as well.
Remember: Tromsø is a popular city for summer tourists chasing the midnight sun, so please book early!
