ORALS

The default format for oral presentations will be by video projector, which is by default hooked up to a computer provided by the hotel. If the presentation is to be given from this computer, he speaker must hand in his/hers files with the talk to the secretary at least 1/2 day before the talk is scheduled. Speakers in the morning session will hand in their talk no later than during the afternoon the day before. We are grateful if speakers make their talks available for the LOC the week before the meeting (either by mail or web page), so that the files can be loaded to the presentation computer ahead of time. The file format should be either PDF or PowerPoint.
The conference management has informed us that people can also give their talks directly off their own laptops, as it is sometimes simpler to just change the cable than it is to make sure the presentation programs etc are 100% compatible.
Please notify the conference secretary upon registration if you will use your own laptop!

If you prefer prefer transparencies, please notify the session chair in due time, so that we can make sure that the overhead projector is ready.

POSTER FORMAT

The poster boards will have the format
 width x height = 90 cm x 120 cm (35 in. x 47 in)
Note the portrait format!
If you want to make a short presentation (max. 2 min) of your poster Tuesday afternoon, please prepare a transparency for overhead projector.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Presenting authors are requested to submit abstracts of their contributions. Note new submission deadline is Monday, March 28.
Postdeadline abstract may be submitted for posters only, but no later than June 17.

This workshop has no parallel sessions, and so the time slots for contributed talks are limited. Hence, contributed abstracts will  be categorized as posters by default. If you want to give a talk, please indicate this explicitly on submission.

Please send the abstract in PDF or PS format to the conference organizer (ashild.fredriksen@phys.uit.no) by e-mail. For those without access to these file formats, arrangements can be made to accept camera-ready abstracts, but the electronic format is strongly encouraged. The abstracts will be bound in a booklet and distributed to all conference attendees during the conference.

The following instructions should be used for preparing abstracts:

  1. The abstract should not exceed one page and should be typed in English.

  2. Title, author(s), affiliation(s) with address(es) and the e-mail address of the corresponding author should be centered at the top of the text.

  3. The text should be typed in either 11 or 12 pt font.

  4. The text should be prepared for A4 size paper (8.27x11.7 in or 210x297mm).

  5. The text dimensions should not exceed 6.5 x 9 inches (16.5 x 22.9 cm).

  6. Text should be prepared in electronic format for submission via e-mail. Acceptable formats are Postscript (ps files) or Portable Document Format (pdf files). Fax submissions will not be accepted.
